Your essay turned out great! I like how you emphasize the importance of self-awareness and self love in this piece. You did it well without assigning blame and acknowledging that many of us carry some version of this burden. That especially reminds me of a line from one of my favourite artists "I'm still angry at my parents for what their parents did to them, but it's a start". Thanks for sharing

Wow, Hari this was an excellent essay. Inspired by how honestly and openly you write.

Especially loved the intro: The way we talk to ourselves mirrors the way our parents talked to us. If you find that you have a lot of negative voices in your head, chances are you had a critical parent growing up.

This was excellent Hari. Appreciate how difficult this must have been for you to write.

My wife and I talk about this subject frequently - how to break ancestral patterns and not pass along generational traumas that we inherited from our parents down to our children.
